Commented Skid: "This UK tour is for real. What I mean is we are taking this seriously. We are not coming over fat and tired, trying to milk the last of our legacy. No, that's not what this is about. We are going to bleed/give 100% at these shows. Not because we think we'll get famous or we'll make more money. LOVE/HATE is fun again and we're going blow minds. Sure, the catalog is strong but the real power is the energy of the band. I promise you will see us in top form. We will be as good as you remember us to be. See you at the show!"
LOVE/HATE's debut album, "Blackout in the Red Room", reached No. 154 on The Billboard 200 in 1990. The video for the single "Why Do You Think They Call It Dope?" was in rotation on MTV, chiefly on "Headbanger's Ball".
In 1992 when they released a second album "Wasted in America", Jizzy Pearl used himself in a legendary publicity stunt to help album sales. This stunt, with the help of a few others, included Jizzy successfully erecting a cross on the Hollywood sign and positioned himself on it. There are two incarnations of LOVE/HATE, before Jizzy Pearl left for L.A. GUNS and after he returned to restart LOVE/HATE. The second incarnation ended quickly as Jizzy Pearl left again to join RATT.
The original lineup reunited for the first time in ten years, on February 24, 2007 at Club Vodka in Hollywood, California to perform their classic record "Blackout in the Red Room" in its entirety. The show sold out, with an audience of 1,500.
